Literally summon strangers from the internet to get into their car
I’m not too sure who deserves credit for this observation, but it’s awesome. My take away from it is that apps can have such a significant impact that they can completely disrupt our collective way of thinking.
My folks spent most of their working years toiling away in the music business. As far as concerts go they’ve done it all. So when I asked my mom what her favorite concert of all time was and without hesitation she replied, “Neil Diamond at Red Rocks” it immediately added the mythical venue to my bucket list.
Today, after 20 years of want, I can scratch this off; Michele and I saw Sturgill Simpson play at Red Rocks! It was positively amazing. I had read so much about how incredible and pristine the sound is but to actually hear it is another thing all together.
The wait was worth it and the hype is real.
Admittedly, I was pretty disappointed to find that Sturgill isn’t touring with the horns or strings that were so prevalent on Sailors Guide to Earth (not to mention, one of my favorite things about the album). But good gawd they rocked out every song with just a 4 piece band. Clearly, it’s a new direction, but a direction that I can get behind.
For a portion of the concert, it was just Sturgill and a guitar. Between the music, Michele, and the stars it was blissfully ethereal when he sang Just Let Go and Breakers Roar.
Woke up today and decided to kill my ego
It ain’t ever done me no good no how
. . .
Oh my God it’s so beautiful
Everything is a part of me
It’s so hard looking through all the lies made of wool
But if you close your eyes it becomes so easy to see
It’s so easy to drown in the dream
Oh, and everything is not what it seems
This life is but a dream
Shatter illusions that hold your spirit down
Open up your heart and you’ll find love all around
Facebook just officially released React 16 RC. This release was codenamed Fiber and represents a complete rewrite of React. As such, I’m anxious to start using it, but I prefer to wait a little while and give some time for all the relevant libraries I use to confirm compatibility.
A personal requirement for me with any editor is the ability to use multiple cursors. Atom came to a crawl (if not crashed) any time I had a large number of multi-cursors active.
The Atom IDE seems like a cool idea (and I applaud GitHub and Facebook for creating and open sourcing it), but I just don’t see how this could dethrone my current favorite IDE: IntelliJ or my current favorite editor: VS Code.
